MaKell's Room

MaKell really wanted a fun ocean look for her room. You can't tell but the blue on the wave matches the color of her bed. I love how bright the colors turned out. The footprints in the sand are MaKell's actual footprints, she thought it was a pretty weird feeling to have paint on her feet.

MaKell loves the movie "Soul Surfer" so we included Bethany Hamilton's surf board, complete with shark bite.

Skipping Rocks

I drew this picture from a photo I took a couple of years ago of our kids and our friends kids skipping rocks in a river in Washington. Beau has been begging me to draw it for him and I surprised him with it for our anniversary last month.

I just finished this picture for our friends the Chris family. This picture was so fun to do but a real challenge! It has been a while since I have done a pencil drawing and you forget how long it takes to draw all the little details. This picture is from an famous old photograph taken of him in the 1950 US Open, you can see the original here: http://www.benhogancorporate.com/ben_hogan.htm. The story of his car accident and coming back to win the US Open is pretty amazing.

Last week I did some artwork on Sydney's walls. She is doing this cute blue color with black and white decorations, I can't wait to see it all done!

This wall will have some bead board where the white space is.

I did a big design on this side then a small design on the opposite wall to tie it all in but still give her some room to hang her pictures on the wall.

Circles

Katelyn wanted pink and brown circles on the wall to match her crib bedding. We matched the crib pattern on one wall and did a few random circles on the other walls. Here are some pictures of the finished product.

Baby Room Project

This crib bedding was so hard to match so I made these hangings on canvas to go on the wall.

Brick Wall

This was a brick wall that I painted for a little boys sports room. One wall contained a slide to the main level of the house. I will have to get an updated picture with the carpeting in.

I did this back when I was in college and it was really fun. You can't tell very well from the pictures but there are some fun textural elements to the walls, there are sparkles in the clouds, a cement mixture in the rock of the castle so it feels like stone, and crackle paint on the tree.
